MiSST Saturday Music School

MiSST

What is it?

The MiSST Saturday Music School is an opportunity for the best music students from MiSST’s London Schools to develop their playing under professional conductors.

The Orchestra will perform regularly and MiSST’s Patron Nicola Benedetti will also be joining the orchestra when she can.

Where and when?

Every Saturday during term time from 9.45am to 1pm at New North Academy, Popham Road, Islington, N1 8SJ.

Can anyone join?

The MiSST Orchestra is open to students who are at minimum Grade 3 standard in their instrument. Auditions will be held for students who are working at this standard but have not yet been assessed.

What’s the commitment?

Students are expected to attend every Saturday unless there are very good reasons why you cannot make it. Students are also expected to commit to our end of term performances and undertake additional practice during the week.

What music will we play?

  • Classic classics!

  • Contemporary and fun

  • New commissions working with our MiSST composer
