Lister Community School Music Department is leading the soft federation of the E13 Music Partnership. Music leaders and co-ordinators from Lister and six local primary feeder schools – Curwen, Plaistow, Portway, Selwyn, Southern Road and Upton Cross – are working together to improve Music provision across our schools, create performance opportunities and improve transition from primary to secondary school.

The music leaders meet at least once a term to share good practice and plan performances and events. Since December 2013 we have held termly ‘Play Days’ at Lister, with each school presenting a musical performance by a class or ensemble. We also have performances from our E13 ensembles – groups set up especially for students in Years 4 – 8 from all the different schools. Rehearsals take places once a week at Lister for E13 Strings, E13 Winds (including brass), E13 Choir and E13 Ukuleles and Guitars.
